A week after a single rain storm thousands of Colchicums occured from the dryish soil. This species is endemic to the semi-arid zone of Israel and is rather rare and protected.

Here is another pic of this species. You can see that the lfowers centre in hairy, these hairs arte protecting the nectar against small, non-efficient pollinators. Only alarger pollinator with a long tongue can penetrate down to the nectary area.

Its difficult to photograph it since its white and the arid background is bright as well. I aksed for a back shadow from a friend and it worked.
