They are native to Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, The Philippines, India, Vietnam, Nepal, Laos, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, China, and North Korea. They have compound, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Xylocopa sonorina, Ant, Long-tailed Blue, and Meliponula bocandei.
