Spiraea tomentosa (Hardhack) is a species of shrub in the family Rosaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, and North America. They have simple, broad leaves and purple flowers. Flowers are visited by Banded Meliscaeva, Tricolored Bumble Bee, Unarmed Leaf-cutter Bee, and Yellow-banded Bumblebee. Individuals can grow to 1.7 m.
