Diospyros virginiana (Common Persimmon) is a species of tree in the family Ebenaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Eastern North America, North America, and United States. They have simple, broad leaves, yellow flowers, and berries. Flowers are visited by Valgus canaliculatus, Southern Carpenter Bee, Common Eastern Bumblebee, and eastern gray squirrel. Individuals can grow to 17 m.
