Diospyros (Diospyros) is a genus of tree in the family Ebenaceae. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN and in cites appendix ii. They are native to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, and The Contiguous United States. They have berries. Flowers are visited by Tetragonula laeviceps, Allograpta, Lecithoceridae, and Picoides villosus. Individuals can grow to 14 m.
