Chionanthus virginicus[1] ye un árbol, natural del este de los Estaos Xuníos, que ye usáu como planta melecinal y como planta ornamental. Popularmente ye conocíu como cionanto o flor de nieve.
Descripción
Ye una pequeñu árbol qu'algama los 7 metros d'altor con fueyes coriacees opuestes y con nervaciones. Les flores arrexuntar en panícules colgantes y tien coroles con cuatro pétalos de color blancu nítido (por eso llamar flor de nieve). El frutu ye una drupa con una sola grana.
Propiedaes
Indicaciones: usáu como diuréticu, vulnerario, estimulante de la secreción biliar, colagogo, febrífugo. Tratamientu de ictericia, hepatomegalia, conxestiones de la vena porta del fégadu. Externamente pa úlceras y feríes. Úsase la corteza del raigañu.[3]
