They are native to Alagoas, Mata Atlântica, Mato Grosso Do Sul, AmazôNia, Maranhao, RondôNia, Sergipe, Paraná, Bahia, GoiáS, SãO Paulo, Mato Grosso, Cerrado, Amapá, Tocantins, Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo, Pará, Minas Gerais, Piauí, and Roraima. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 3.5 m.
