Amaranthus (Amaranth) is a genus of annual herb in the family Amaranthaceae. They are native to U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Canada, Hawaii, US Minor Outlying Islands, and The Contiguous United States. They have capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by honey bees, Lipotriches, speckled wood, and Painted Crescent.
