Dunryggig mestimalia[2] (Macronus ptilosus) är en fågel i familjen timalior inom ordningen tättingar.[3]
Utbredning och systematik
Dunryggig mestimalia delas in i fyra underarter:[3]

M. p. ptilosus – förekommer i Thailand och Malaysia

M. p. trichorrhos – förekommer på Sumatra och Batuöarna
-
M. p. sordidus – förekommer på Bangka- och Belitungöarna
-
M. p. reclusus – förekommer på Borneo
Underarten inkluderas ofta i reclusus,[4] som i sin tur ofta inkluderas i trichorrhos[5].
Status
IUCN kategoriserar arten som nära hotad.[1]
