Iris ruthenica is a species of perennial herb in the family Iridaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Lasioglossum virideglaucum and Rhingia binotata. Individuals can grow to 20 m.
