Lycaena phlaeas (Small Copper) is a species of butterflies in the family gossamer-winged butterflies. They are native to the Palearctic. They visit flowers of tickseed, early goldenrod, clover, and common tansy. They are crepuscular herbivores. They rely on flight to move around.
