Cirsium arvense (Creeping Thistle) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Hungary, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Czech Republic, Estonia, United Kingdom, China, Armenia, Italy, Western North America, Azerbaijan, Poland, Iran, Slovakia, Spain, Afghanistan, Portugal, Belarus, Georgia, Turkey, Albania, Ireland, France, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, The Netherlands, North America, Turkmenistan, Norway, Russia, Latvia, Moldova, Ukraine, French Southern Territories, Belgium, Sweden, Lithuania, Romania, Austria, and Switzerland. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Flowers are visited by Lucilia, Sphecodes ephippius, Batyle suturalis, and Oedemera lurida. Individuals can grow to 0.66 m.
