Thuja occidentalis (Arbor Vitae) is a species of tree in the family Cupressaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Eastern North America, The Contiguous United States, United States, Canada, North America, and northern hemisphere. They have simple, scale leaf leaves and cones. Flowers are visited by Northern Cardinal, Eastern American Chipmunk, American Robin, and Red-bellied Woodpecker. Individuals can grow to 19 m.
