“Plants monoecious, very mucilaginous, deep bluish green, 2-7 cm high, 300 mm in diameter, more or less abundantly and irregularly branched; whorls spherical or ellipsoidal, more or less separated; primary fascicles sparsely branched; 7-11 cell-storeys, cells cylindrical, 4-7 mm in diameter, 7-15 mm long, terminal hairs absent; secondary fascicles numerous, sparsely branched; spermatangia spherical, termnal on laterals or shortened branchlets, 4-6 mm in diameter; carpogonium-bearing branches arising from periaxial cells, 25-40 mm long, consisting of 6-8 barrel-shaped cells; carpogonia 4-5mm in diameter at the base, 6-9 mm in diameter at the apex, 17-25 mm long, trichogyne ovoid or urn-shaped, distinctly stalked; carposporophytes 2-3, centrally inserted in whorls, spherical, or hemispherical; carposporangia ellipsoidal or ovoid, 8-11 mm in diameter, 13-15 mm long.”
