Description of Chaetoceros decipiens

Cells of C. decipiens form straight chains. The pical axis of the cells is 30-55 microns, the pervalvar axis is usually shorter. Setae are originating at the valve margin. Characteristically sister setae are fused for a length several times their diameter.
