Proboscia alata is a species of diatoms in the family Rhizosoleniaceae. They are native to Rio De Janeiro, Espirito Santo, SãO Paulo, Santa Catarina, Bahia, Sergipe, Pernambuco, Alagoas, and Rio Grande Do Norte. Dead Proboscia alata form siliceous oozes.
