Actinor is a Himalayan genus of butterflies in the family Hesperiidae. It is monotypic, being represented by the single species Actinor radians, the veined dart.[1][2]

Description

Male. Upperside luteous-brown, basal hairy scales yellow. Cilia cinereous-white: forewing with a pale-yellow constricted spot at end of the cell, and an irregular transverse continuous discal band of spots with their lower angles continued outward along the veins; hindwing with a yellow streak at end of the cell and a short discal band with outer rays. Underside paler, minutely speckled with yellowish-white; forewing as above, the hind margin being also broadly yellow; hindwing with a subbasal spot, all the veins, and two (a median and a discal) transverse sinuous bands pale yellow. Palpi, body beneath and legs yellowish-white.

Wingspan of 1.5 inches.

Distribution

The butterfly occurs from Chitral to Kumaon in the Himalayas up to 4,000 feet (1,200 m).[4]

Status

It is not rare.[4]

Actinor radians[1]​ es una especie de lepidópteros ditrisios de la subfamilia Hesperiinae dentro de la familia Hesperiidae., Actinor es un género monotípico del Himalaya.[2]

Descripción

Macho: Tiene el haz de color marrón, peludo con escalas basales amarillas. Cilios cenicientos en blanco: las alas anteriores con una mancha de color amarillo pálido en el extremo, y una banda continua transversal irregular discal de puntos con sus ángulos inferiores hacia el exterior continua a lo largo de las venas, alas posteriores con una raya amarilla en el extremo y una banda corta discal con rayos externos. Más pálido de abajo, minuciosamente moteado de color blanco amarillenta, el margen posterior es también ampliamente amarillo, las alas posteriores con una mancha subbasal, todas las venas, y dos (una mediana y una discal) bandas sinuosas transversales de color amarillo pálido. Palpos, debajo del cuerpo y las piernas de color blanco amarillento.[3]

Tiene una enverdadura de 4 cm.

Distribución

La mariposa se distribuye desde Chitral a Kumaon en el Himalaya hasta los 1200 metros de altitud.
