Peritrich ciliate in lorica. Lorica ovate, transparent, one and a half times as long as broad, slightly inflated posteriorly; pedicle 1/4 to 1/3 as long as the lorica. Ciliate body slender and funnel-shaped, colorless or whitish. When extended, 1/3 of the body protrudes from the lorica. Length of lorica 45-73 micrometres. Salt and brackish water, on algae.
