Dicranella gonoi Cardot 1907

Plants minute, up to 4 mm high, green to brownish green, scattered or in loose tufts. Stems erect, simple, somewhat radiculose at base. Lower leaves small and short, upper ones larger and longer, up to 3 mm long, rather abruptly narrowed from a nearly triangular base to a subulate, semi-canaliculate acumen; margins plane below, involute and serrulate above; costa percurrent, yellowish or reddish brown, smooth at back; upper and median cells linear to long-rectangular; 50–65 µm × 4–6 µm; lower and basal cells short-rectangular to subquadrate, lax and wider, 20–40 µm × 10–15 µm. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves differentiated, sheathing at base, with a long and setaceous acumen. Setae straight, 3–4 mm long, yellowish brown; capsules erect, ovoid, with a very short, indistinct neck, plicate when dry; opercula obliquely long-rostrate, 0.9 mm long; annuli in 3 rows of large cells, deciduous; peristome teeth lanceolate, divided to the middle, vertically striate and reddish orange below. Spores 20–25 µm in diameter, finely papillose.
