Trachischium tenuiceps, also known as the yellowbelly worm-eating snake, is a species of colubrid snake found in South Asia and Tibet.[3]
It is found in Nepal, Bangladesh, northeast India (Darjeeling, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh [Mokto, Bomdir – Tawang district] ) and Tibet and possibly also in Bhutan.[3]
Trachischium tenuiceps is blackish dorsally, and, as the common name implies, it is yellowish ventrally. The smooth dorsal scales are arranged in 13 rows, with males having keeled dorsal scales in the anal region. Ventrals 134–138; anal divided; subcaudals 34–39. Adults may attain 35 cm (14 inches) in total length, and have a tail 5 cm (2 inches) long.[4]

Il dorso è nero iridescente mentre il ventre è giallastro, a volte tendente al bianco. La testa è conica e stretta.[3][4]
Gli adulti possono raggiungere una lunghezza totale di 35 cm, di cui 5 cm è la coda.[3][4]
Le squame dorsali sono lisce e disposte in 13 file, con i maschi che hanno squame dorsali carenate nella regione anale; hanno da 134 a 138 squame ventrali e da 34 a 39 squame subcaudali; quella anale è divisa.[3][4]
T. tenuiceps abita l'ecozona indomalese e paleartica.[1]
Il suo habitat include la pineta subtropicale dell'Himalaya e i prati e arbusteti alpini dell'Himalaya orientale.[1]
Questi territori si estendono in Bangladesh, Buthan, India nord-orientale (Darjeeling, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Mokto, distretto di Bomdir - Tawang), Nepal e Tibet.[1][2]
