Trees or shrubs. Stipules small. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets alternate without translucent dots or streaks. Flowers in lateral racemes. Calyx spherical, entire before dehiscence; disk 0. Petal 1. Stamens numerous (>30), arranged in several rows at base of calyx, free or ± so. Pod indehiscent, cylindric or beaded, woody.

Bobgunnia is a genus of flowering plants in the legume family, Fabaceae. It belongs to the subfamily Faboideae. The genus is named for Charles R. Gunn who was the director of the U.S. National Seed Herbarium for many years before his retirement.
