Ulex europaeus (Gorse) is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Western North America, Western Europe, central europe, France, The Hawaiian Islands, and Europe. They have compound, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Common carder bumblebee, Bombus jonellus, Red tailed bumblebee, and Phaedon cochleariae. Individuals can grow to 1.5 m.
