Glabrous suffrutescent liana; leaves membranaceous, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 1.5-6 cm. long, 0.3-2.5 cm. broad, shortly acuminate to obtuse and usually mucronulate, rounded and very obscurely cordate at the base, the petioles 1-6 mm. long; inflorescence axillary, much surpassing the leaves, conspicuously dichotomous, bearing several to numerous, pale-pink or cream-colored flowers; pedicels 1-3 mm. long; calyx-lobes narrowly lanceolate, 1.5-2 mm. long; corolla salverform, the tube 10-15 mm. long, about 1 mm. in diameter at the base, the lobes broadly obovate-dolabriform, 7-9 mm. long; follicles 15-20 cm. long, conspicuously moniliform.
Type locality: Near Cape HaUien, Haiti.
Distribution: Hispaniola.
