Ustilago triplasidis Ellis & Ev.; Clinton, Proc. Bost. Soc. Nat
Hist. 31 : 355. 1904.
Sori in ovaries, ellipsoidal, about 3-4 mm. in length, protected by thin membrane, showing between the glumes of most of the spikelets ; spores light reddish-brown, often lighter-colored on one side, ovoid to chiefly subspherical or spherical, usually abundantly but very minutely echinulate, 5-9/^ in length.
On Poaceae :
Triplasis americana, Mississippi. Type locality : Deer Island, Biloxi, Mississippi, on Triplasis americana.
Distribution : Mississippi.
