Southern Purple Cort

This species occurs in Tasmania and Victoria, Australia in Eucalyptus forests. It differs from members of the Cortinarius violaceus group by its smooth fibrillose (not squamulose or squamose) cap and by the lack of pleurocystidia (C. violaceus has both cheilo- and pleurocystidia).
