Camarophyllus subrufescens (Peck) Murrill
Hygrophorus subrufescens Peck, Bull. N. Y. State Mus. 67: 23. 1903.
Pileus fleshy, but thin on the margin, convex or nearly plane, about 2.5 cm. broad; surface dry, minutely floccose-squamulose, pale-pink or grayish-red: context whitish, faintly tinged with pink, the taste mild: lamellae decurrent, subdistant, whitish: spores ellipsoid, 7.5 X 5 fx: stipe rather long, flexuous, equal or nearly so, glabrous, white, solid, 4—8 cm. long, 4-8 mm. thick.
Type IvOCality: Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York.
Habitat: Among fallen leaves in woods. Distribution: Known only from the type locality. Ii/i^usTRATiONS : Bull. N. Y. State Mus. 67: pi. M, f. 1-6.
