Description: Adult head and body brown with blue spots, scale margins black on body, tan on tail (Ref. 90102). Juveniles have brighter and more numerous blue spots than adults (Ref. 1602). Body depth 1.8-1.9 in SL (Ref. 90102)

Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
