Schizolobium parahyba (Guapuruvu Tree) is a species of tree in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Rio De Janeiro, Amazônia, Mata Atlântica, Paraná, Espirito Santo, Minas Gerais, Ceará, SãO Paulo, Piauí, RondôNia, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Acre (Brazil), Mato Grosso Do Sul, Pará, Bahia, GoiáS, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, and Rio Grande Do Sul. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 28 m.
