Baccharis cognata is a species of shrub in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Distrito Federal, Rio Grande Do Sul, Mato Grosso Do Sul, SãO Paulo, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Pampa, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Cerrado, The Neotropics, Minas Gerais, GoiáS, and Mata Atlântica. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Individuals can grow to 0.63 m.
