Perennial herbs; stems often creeping or decumbent. Leaves alternate, petiolate, lyrate-pinnatifid, white-woolly beneath. Capitula radiate, solitary; ray florets neuter (not producing achenes), yellow; disk florets bisexual, also yellow. Receptacle without scales. Phyllaries imbricate, in many rows; margins scarious. Achenes obovoid, ribbed; pappus 0 or of small scales.

Arctotheca /ˌɑːrktoʊˈθiːkə/ is a small genus of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae. They are annuals or perennials native to southern Africa. It is becoming an invasive weed in other parts of the world.^[3]
