Triopteris brittonii Small, sp. nov Leaf-blades ovate, usually broadly so, mostly 4-10 cm. long, markedly acuminate, reticulate-veined, bright-green and somewhat shining above, dull and paler beneath, cordate at the base, short-petioled; sepals ovate, about 2 mm. long, the glands full)' one half the length of the sepal-body; petals purplish, the larger ones 4.5-5 mm. long, the blades suborbicular, undulate and sometimes irregularly toothed ; samaras not seen.
Type collected on Spur Tree Hill, near Mandeville, Jamaica, September 2, 1907, N. L. Britton 1069 (herb. N. Y. Bot. Gard.).
Distribution : Known only from the type locality.
