Umbellularia californica (California Laurel) is a species of tree in the family Lauraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN. They are native to North America, Western North America, The Contiguous United States, and United States. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Margined White, Red Admiral, Western Yellowjacket, and Syrphus opinator. Individuals can grow to 27 m.
