Lotus flowers are for only three days. The flowers bloom at 4 or 5 in the morning and close at noon. They get into full bloom on the third day but the blossoms soon wither and fall. Twenty days after that, the seepods are ready for picking. This photo was taken in the Hong Kong Park here in Hong Kong.

Small population of Nelumbo nucifera growing here originated from wild plants captured in natural habitat in another place in Primorsky Territory (Khanka Lake or southern part of Khasansky district probably) several year ago.
