Urera baccifera (Scratchbush) is a species of shrub in the family Urticaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Mato Grosso, Piauí, Ceará, ParaíBa, AmazôNia, Rio Grande Do Norte, Sergipe, Espirito Santo, GoiáS, Paraná, Roraima, Tocantins, Alagoas, Rio De Janeiro, RondôNia, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica, Bahia, Distrito Federal, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Sul, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Puerto Rico, Caatinga, Minas Gerais, Acre (Brazil), Santa Catarina, Pará, SãO Paulo, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Amapá. They have simple, broad leaves and achene. Individuals can grow to 6.5 m.
