Malvastrum americanum (Indian Valley False Mallow) is a species of shrub in the family mallows. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to SãO Paulo, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Puerto Rico, The Contiguous United States, Bahia, Cerrado, Minas Gerais, Mata Atlântica, Sergipe, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Rio De Janeiro. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Heliopetes arsalte, Cymaenes trebius, Turk's-Cap White-Skipper, and Whirlabout. Individuals can grow to 0.5 m.
