They are native to Cerrado, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pará, Rio De Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Tocantins, Mata Atlântica, Pernambuco, Pantanal, Rio Grande Do Norte, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Piauí, GoiáS, Caatinga, Maranhao, AmazôNia, Bahia, Ceará, and Mato Grosso. They have simple, broad leaves.
