Stem slender, 2- dm. high, glandular-scabrous ; petioles of basal leaves 1-A cm. long, glandular-puberulent, often bulbiferous in the axils ; blades reniform, 1-2 cm. broad, glandular-hirsute, usually divided into 3-5 rounded lobes which are more or less crenate ; stem-leaves divided to near the base into narrower divisions ; flowers 3-6 ; pedicels 2-5 mm. long ; hypanthium campanulate, together with the sepals about 5 mm. long and
4 mm. wide ; sepals ovate, acutish ; petals about 6 mm. long,' with long claws and rhombicovate entire blades ; styles manifest and slightly exserted ; seeds muriculate.
Type locality: Pine woods south of Tehachapi, California. Distribution : Central California.

Stem tall, 3-6 dm. high, glandular-puberulent ; petioles of basal leaves 4-6 cm. long, puberulent; blades reniform, indistinctly lobed and sparingly hirsutulous ; stem-leaves several, with bulblets in their axils, the upper deeply divided into narrow divisions; flowers 5-8; pedicels 2-3 mm. long; hypanthium campanulate, striate, together with the sepals 4-5 mm. long; sepals triangular-ovate, acutish ; petals white, 7-8 mm. long, with slender claws and oval or oblong blades, which are entire or rarely slightly dentate.
Type locality : California, in a shady ravine, southeast of Monte Diablo. Distribution : Damp places, central and southern CaHfornia.
