Ammannia coccinea (Valley Redstem) is a species of shrub in the family Lythraceae. They are native to The Contiguous United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. They have purple flowers and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Orange-legged Drone Fly, Black Blister Beetle, Coelioxys alternata, and Lygus pratensis. Individuals can grow to 1.6 feet.
