Ammannia coccinea (Valley Redstem) is a species of shrub in the family Lythraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands. They have simple, broad leaves, purple flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Dainty Sulphur, Eristalis flavipes, Cheilosia pallipes, and alfalfa lygus. Individuals can grow to 0.49 m.
