They are native to Norway, Yugoslavia, France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Belarus, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Greece, Russia, Romania, Hungary, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Albania, Poland, Georgia, Czech Republic, Finland, Afghanistan, Belgium, Austria, Azerbaijan, Iran, Eastern North America, Tajikistan, Armenia, Lithuania, Germany, and Latvia. They have green flowers. Flowers are visited by Flavous Nomad Bee, European tar spot, Bare-winged Halfband, and Spotted Meliscaeva. Individuals can grow to 50 feet.
