They are native to The Contiguous United States, Western North America, United States, and The Americas. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by 7-spot ladybird, Ashy Gray Lady Beetle, Grammoptera militaris, and Vosnesensky Bumble Bee. Individuals can grow to 4.1 m.
