Plants 1-1.5 dm. tall, bright-green, glabrous. Stems simple below, or branched at the base, the branches erect or ascending, striate-angled, sparingly corymbose above, the short branches stiff ; leaves rather few, more numerous and often approximate at the base of the stem, more distant above, erect or ascending, the blades thickish, linear to narrowly linearlanceolate, those near the base of the stem and branches narrower than the upper ones, acute or acuminate, entire, involute ; bracts lanceolate, glandular-toothed ; outer sepals oblong-ovate, becoming 6 mm. long, acute or slightly acuminate, with broad coarsely glandular-toothed margins ; inner sepals slightly shorter than the outer, ovate, with more and rather smaller teeth; petals yellow, 10-12 mm. long; capsules broadly ovoid, about 4 mm. long.
