Paspalum cymbiforme Fourn. Mex. PL Gram. 5. 1881
Stems up to 8 dm. tall, branched, glabrous, the nodes usually pubescent; leaf-sheaths glabrous, crowded and overlapping belpw; blades flat or the upper ones involute, 8-15 cm. long, 5-7 mm. wide, glabrous, long-acuminate; inflorescence 8-10 cm. long, of 2 or 3 racemes 4-6 cm. long, the rachis with brown wings about 0.5 mm. wide; spikelets 2.5-3 mm. long, elHptic, acute, the first scale wanting, the second and third scales 3-nerved, the second ciliate on the lateral nerves with very long stiff hairs and pubescent on the internerve near the base.
Type locality : Mirador, Vera Cruz. Distribution : Mexico and Guatemala.
