They are native to Minas Gerais, ParaíBa, Pará, Pernambuco, Santa Catarina, Tocantins, Paraná, SãO Paulo, Cerrado, Amapá, Caatinga, Mato Grosso, Distrito Federal, GoiáS, Puerto Rico, Alagoas, Sergipe, Acre (Brazil), Amazônia, Roraima, Pantanal, The Neotropics, Maranhao, Rio Grande Do Norte, Rio Grande Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Ceará, Espirito Santo, RondôNia, Bahia, Piauí, and Mata Atlântica. They have simple, broad leaves.
