Description

Perennial herb, growing from a woody rootstock. Stems 1-several, erect or prostrate, simple or sparsely branched, hairless. Leaves subsessile, broadly ovate, obovate or elliptic, up to 8 × 5 cm, green above, grey-green with prominent veins below; margin remotely toothed, particularly near the base. Flowers 1-3 together, pale yellow, often with a tendril replacing the terminal flower. Petals absent, outer corona blue. Fruit a pendulous, obovoid capsule, 1.5-2 cm long.
