A perennial herb with ascending stems that are rooting at the lower nodes. The leaves are 1.5-2.5 x 0.6-1.4 cm in size, with ovate-elliptic blade, acute apex rarely subacute or obtuse. The lower leaves are petiolate, while the upper are sessile or subsessile. The flowers are small with pale blue or pinkish corolla and are arranged in alternate, lax, glabrous or sparsely pilose-glandular racemes that reach up to 20 cm long. The fruit is a rounded capsule. The calyx-lobes are closely appressed to the capsule.
