Densely branched glandular undershrubs with an unpleasant smell. Flowers solitary or few. Calyx ± actinomorphic, divided almost to base into linear segments. Corolla ± actinomorphic, weakly 2-lipped; lobes lilac, throat orange. Stamens 4; anthers 2-thecous. Ovary with 2 ovules per loculus, only one developing into a seed. Capsule 2-seeded. Seeds borne on retinacula.
