Alvaradoa arborescens Wright ; Griseb. Cat. PI. Cub. 50. 1866 A shrub or small tree with puberulent twigs. Leaves mostly 1-1.5 dm. long, stiff, the rachis rather stout, the leaflets 7-19, the blades leathery, obovate, oval, or suborbicular at the base of the rachis, elliptic, oblong, or ovate on the upper part, the larger ones 1-2.5 cm. long, all obtuse or notched at the apex, glabrous, dark-green and shining above, yellowish-green and dull beneath ; calyx-lobes ovate, mostly 1.5 mm. long, acute or acutish ; samaras oblong, 1-1.5 cm. long, rounded at the apex, very short-pedicelled.
Type locality' : Mont Toro, eastern Cuba. Distribution : Eastern Cuba.
