They are native to RondôNia, Amazônia, Pernambuco, Mata Atlântica, The Neotropics, Pará, Cerrado, Bahia, Espirito Santo, Acre (Brazil), and Minas Gerais. They have compound, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 2 m.
