Leionema is a genus of more than 20 species of mostly small shrubs in the family Rutaceae, most of which are endemic to eastern Australia. Plants within this genus have scented foliage and clustered, star-shaped flowers which range in colour from cream to bright yellow. Prior to 1998, all species within this genus were included in the genus Phebalium.

Krzewy o nagich lub owłosionych pędach. Liście skrętoległe, pojedyncze, gruczołowato punktowane, całobrzegie, rzadziej ząbkowane. Kwiaty obupłciowe i pięciokrotne wyrastają pojedynczo lub w wierzchotkowatych kwiatostanach w kątach liści lub szczytowo. Kielich i korona kwiatu składa się z 5 listków, pręcików jest 10[3].
Rodzaj z rodziny rutowatych Rutaceae z rzędu mydleńcowców Sapindales w obrębie kladu różowych roślin okrytonasiennych[1]. W obrębie rodziny rodzaj klasyfikowany jest do podrodziny Toddalioideae i plemienia Boronieae[2].
