A glabrous shrub or tree with usually distinctly winged petioles, or wings occasionally obscure ; leaves alternate, 3-foliolate, the leaflets oblong-elliptic to rhombic-elliptic, 4-10 cm. long, 2-5 cm. broad, obtuse to acuminate at the apex, obtuse or cuneateat the base, crenate or nearly entire, short-petioluled or subsessile; inflorescence axillary and terminal ; flowers fragrant ; petals obovate, 3-3.2 mm. long, 1.7-2 mm. broad ; anthers ovate ; ovary glabrous, oblong or ellipsoid, gradually tapering into a short style ; stigma capitate.
Type locality : State of Vera Cruz. Distribution : Mexico.
